The first picture is in the school library. I love writing there because its so quiet (I always write on the third floor). There is also something about the atmosphere of being surrounded by other books that really feeds into the energy of writing my own. I also included my coffee cup because coffee is a NECESSITY when I write. I fuels my fingers while the books fuel my brain. I always write on my laptop.

These pictures are of my desk at home. It is a nice brown mahogany desk that just begs to be written on. On it there is a really cool, older-looking lamp – I call it my writing lamp – because it also gives me the vibe that I should be writing. I took a picture with the light on and off, because there are certain times when I need to set the mood and I prefer dim light, and then other times when I need full lighting. The poster on the wall behind the desk is of the first typewriter, invented by R.C. Little (I think that’s accurate – that’s what the poster says). I find inspiration from the history of typewriting and seeing where it is today.
The last picture is of my cat, Gimli. I use him as inspiration a lot, simply because he’s young and curious, and he always sees things a different way than I see them. I try to use that feeling when writing (even if I’m not writing as a cat); that feeling of seeing things in a different way. I think that is the most important thing you can write about.
